Perform

We offer our dancers numerous opportunities to perform throughout the year in our various performance groups. Major productions are presented by Dance Wisconsin, the pre-professional company affiliated with the studio under artistic director Jo Jean Retrum. Our commitment to stage experience means we work hard to include even the youngest dancers in our productions. Our studio dancers also entertain local audiences at free public events throughout the year. In addition, our Mad City dancers compete in regional competitions, where they typically excel.

New Works Concert

Showcasing the work of emerging and established choreographers—many of whom are alumni of the studio—this exciting fall production features Dance Wisconsin and Mad City dancers as well as guest artists.

Nutcracker Fantasy

A whimsical twist on a holiday favorite, combining Tchaikovsky’s classic music with an original score, contemporary elements and tons of surprises! Many of our young dancers get their start on stage as elves, little party girls, or soldiers in Nutcracker Fantasy. Recent productions have featured guest artists from American Ballet Theatre and other leading companies.

Spring Ballet

We frequently produce the charming Peter Rabbit’s Ballet, an original production based on the stories of Beatrix Potter. In recent years we have also performed Alice in Wonderland and La Fille Mal Gardée.

Spring Recital

Each June our dancers show the results of their hard work with a recital featuring class pieces, company numbers, and solos.
